Couldn't have expressed my feelings any better. Big Ron and St. John were indeed the bogey men in red.I believe that I really did hate St.John (and Shankly, and big Ron) back in the day, but of course it stemmed purely from the fact that they represented 'them'. Obviously it was nothing personal, how could it be? I never knew any of them.
As I matured I held a grudging appreciation of them all.
Genuinely sorry to hear of his death.

Got him the day of the AJ 3-0 derby, and he was a staunch lifelong Evertonian (or so I told him). Beat off lymphoma with chemo just before Christmas, but that gave way to leukaemia and we had to ‘take the decision’ today. Bless him - we’re going to miss him.
