...lots of tributes on this side of the Irish Sea too, clearly a courageous man and steadfast politician who’s overwhelming desire was for a ‘peaceful’ solution to the conflict. Blair was particularly indebted to him for being the man who gave him a steer and made peace possible.

Hume swung Derry to the idea of a negotiated settlement which was a building block to the GFA. At the time of the voting he represented middle class Nationalism which is always important in getting a vote over the line.

Prolific Rock And Metal Producer Martin Birch Dead At 71

Martin Birch was at the helm of many great rock and heavy metal albums. He died early Sunday at the age of 71. Rest in Peace.
