Pete Shelley, lead singer of The Buzzcocks, reported dead of a heart attack. (63).
Great band, great voice. RIP.

That sucks. RIP These guys were huge in my early life. My buddy in 5th grade (age 10??) was one of those kids who had older, very hip siblings and cool parents. So when his high-school aged brother/sisters threw a party, me and my buddy were allowed to sit in the periphery. I recall they had the buzzcocks on the turntable--A different Kind of Tension--and really digging it. I was later able to see them in 1984 or about them, and they are still in heavy rotation as of late. I find it funny that their songs are catchy pop-masterpieces, but in the era they were written in, they were called punk.

RIP

Shelley had such a unique sounding voice, he still sounds like like a 15 year old whacking off in his bedroom. They made punk easy to get into.

Just a couple of years ahead of my time but they were a massive influence on so many of the band's of my youth.

The first band I was in used to play "Boredom". In fact it was pretty much the first song we learned to play together.

So many perfect songs in their catalogue. They drew from a wider range of influences than many of their contemporaries and had a such a great ear for melody. Should've been much bigger than they were.
