Hes fluffing chances that last season, in form, he would bury.

A striker gets a massive boost from getting goals. 9 times out of 10 after they score after a glut, they tend to score more and not think too much about it
 

He has a very good track record on getting in to positions and finishing. The lad must be knackered and having confidence issues. I would'nt mind resting him and having Anichebe and Vellios against Bolton.

Seriously I've trusted him to find his form - but he now needs dropping. Anichebe is looking much more dangerous and Zkevin is back.

That chance could have grabbed us the two extra points. You cant miss chances like that in hot pursuit of the CL

Held off as long as possible as I still like the work he does around the team, helped out defensively a lot today for example, setup play for Anichebe a few times, but yeah he needs benching for a while. that miss today was unreal.

No, but that's why it's good to look back the last three or so seasons and see that he is capable of slotting in those chances he gets himself into and that it is a momentary dip in form. This season we are also playing a bit of a different system and I guess we are also missing Gibson. And yeah he shouldn't be allowed / told to go wide but to go in to the box to slot.
 

It's a crisis of confidence together with not living up to the ridiculous standards he set himself last season.

Let's be honest, he probably peaked in that 5 month period. If he can regain his confidence/form over the coming weeks and be our 12/15 goal a season striker then that's still more than good enough.
 
Keep playing Jelavic if we cant sign a new striker. Vic is an impact sub only. He cant lead the line from the off over 90 minutes.
