The Croatian situation

Even though I am a UK citizen and its what our government seem to relish doing, there's no point punishing the innocent majority for the actions of a few dozen pillocks - it breeds resentment and destroys morale (oh that's why the govt do it) . Also think of the footballers and their ambitions.

A simple behind closed doors second leg, only allowing in the away fans, obviously, will allow the competition to proceed.

Well we're talking UEFA, and we're talking football. Not people's natural rights or issues of governance. This is more of a privelage than a right, and if the footballers are good enough, they can transfer to another club. Their's repurcussions for actions. Stuff like this over a game isn't something to take lightly, they have to be shown to behave or just not even get the opportunity. Your post makes no sense.

We're talking a sport here... not terrorism or nation building and the UK doesn't have the final say. If it breeds resentment and destroys morale... then fine, they can opt out of UEFA and go do whatever the hell they want.
