I don’t usually post on here either but feel compelled to.

Anger doesn’t come close to how I feel about Johnson, his rule breaking and his lies.

My wife said goodbye to her father over the phone, a nurses phone was pressed to his ear. He was too weak to hold it and too sick to talk back. He died surrounded by strangers.

Shame on Johnson and shame on anyone who is an apologist for him or his rotten government.

I am genuinely sorry for your loss. But answer truthfully, are you upset with the Civil Servants and the head of the Cabinet Office over this, or just Boris, also do you vote conservative or other….

No, I really think you’ve got this wrong, and tbf Boris is doing the right thing for them…..

I don't think he is doing the right thing for them, or more importantly for us. Do you agree we should be reducing the size of the army by nearly another 10000 people? With getting rid of more than a hundred tanks? Getting rid of Typhoons, Hercules and Pumas? Losing even more combat vessels from the RN?

This lays bare the reality that hundreds of thousands of those whoss family and friends died in the pandemic, how their grief was being respected by the highest office in the land the anger and hurt they must be feeling is unimaginable.

The balance of our armed forces is incredibly complex. The sums involved are massive and whichever bet you make does not come into fruition for years. Personally, I would not reduce the Army, but having said that 20 years ago I was advocating expenditure in drones and UAV’s which now appear to be paying dividends. The U.K. undertakes continuous strategic reviews, one of which said scrap MRA4 even after spending millions, and it was correct. Tanks as can be seen in Ukraine are now incredibly vulnerable and as always it’s the Air that controls the battlefield. We are not getting rid of typhoons, we are investing in Tempest and are part of the F35 programme and manufacture. We can buy what we need, and be part of the development with others (a la Typhoon), It’s a complex process….
