According to an article in The Times last week, even the Home Office now admit that if the scheme goes ahead it will deal with only 300 or so people a year. I think the whole story is just to make it look like the governement is doing something, get some positive headlines and then blame liberal lawyers etc. when nothing happens.Important to understand this

The Rwanda refugee deal is a distraction from the real issues in the asylum system - Free Movement
The government has invested huge political capital into its refugee deal with Rwanda. Equally immense resources of time and energy will also no doubt befreemovement.org.uk
Long story short, the people being sent to Rwanda don't get any right to actually return to the UK, even if their asylum claim is successful. All that means is that they gain asylum in Rwanda. If the claim isn't successful, they get sent who knows where. What a country we're becoming.
