I honestly don't think that's true. Children should be encouraged to form an opinion based on evidence. If s child writes a letter of congratulation and says why, I guarantee the teacher would approve. Any teacher worth their salt, anyway. I think you're being far too defensive here.

There was huge opposition to Blair and his Iraq decisions. Children almost certainly criticised him for it. Kids are young, possibly even naive, but they're not stupid

So in the last few months alone….
1. The royal family are paying off 12m out of public funds to get their son out of a sex scandal.

2. The government spent 37 billion of public funds on a failed track and trace system which then just disappeared…..yet can’t seem to find money for pay increases for nhs staff.

3. PPE contract worth 252m was given to a investment firm who had no history of working in this area and are registered in Mauritius.

This “getting our country back” is going rather well isn’t it ??

The British public have handed the keys to the country to a load of crooks and seemingly don’t care….and are more bothered about Sheila down the road getting an extra £20 a month in her universal credit.

This country is properly screwed.

I was in secondary school during the Blair years and I'm pretty sure we had class debates on the subject of the Iraq war.

Long past the time the 'Honours' system went and a new way to recognise nurses, lollipop men/women etc instigated. They only get the crumbs whilst the 'big' ones are kept for the cronies anyway.

I've always wanted to be offered one just so I could turn it down ?
