I’m sorry for your loss. I lost my Father in January last year, he was waving at me to come into the hospital room and I had to hold a note to the window saying that I wasn’t allowed into the room and he then waved again to me and burst into tears, 36 hours later he passed away. I don’t blame the hospital staff for enforcing the rules, they had no choice, but this is absolutely sickening, I wish I’d have gone into the room now, I think the hospital staff would have turned a blind eye looking back, but I didn’t want to risk causing a fuss so I just kept quiet and followed the rules. This Government can go to hell.My beloved Mum died in February last year. We were limited to 10 people at her funeral, as were so many other bereaved people. As I have posted elsewhere, my wife and daughter are nurses, and we went along with the Irish Government rules.
I worked with Tony Houlihan our Chief Medical Officer when I was in the Department of Health and I have the height of respect for him. He says it as he sees it whether politicians like it or not.
If our Taoiseach did what Johnson has done, he would be gone.
