£30 tax payer money given to Chartwell (compass UK) for school meals who then deliver a fivers worth of food. Until December Compass was run by Paul Walsh, Conservative party donor, so a nice final contract for his company agreed before he left.
Would probably be a bit more efficient to just give the parents £30, but sure the tories would argue that they’d just spend it on ciggies or crack.
This Tory cronyism will eventually be their undoing. In a years time, when we’re told we’re a trillion quid in the hole, so taxes have to go up, and public services have to be slashed, and we then learn that half a trillion of that has gone to their mates in business, in exchange for donations at the next election. Pity so many fall for it, time and again.
