Current Affairs The Conservative Party

I some ways I think it was better that the Tories were in during the pandemic as boot lickers were more inclined to follow their orders. If it had of been Labour there’d have been rioting in the streets.
Pete's on record as saying he'd happily sacrifice his and his wife's life to Covid if it meant the country was in a better shape. A man of the people.

You know I hadn't realised just how vulnerable the Tories are in the 2025 local elections (thanks to Honest Bob tweeting nonsense about Labour not wanting to face the electorate). The last elections for these seats took place whilst the UK was riding high on the 'Boris Brexit Bounce' and also the vaccine rollout, so the current council seat totals are skewed massively towards the Conservatives.

These are what are up for grabs (minus whichever ones from the first list that decide not to bother on their path to Unitary Authoritidom, the ones Jenrick complained about, like an idiot).

Plus a Labour controlled Yorkshire metripolitan borough and a few Labour mayoralties.

Now I'll be happy to admit that Sir Keir's Realism Warriors aren't really 'doing it' for the uninformed wider electorate at the moment, and aren't likely to reap any major rewards for telling it like it is. But does that lead to Conservative Retains, or Reform Gains? Honestly it could be a bloodbath for the Westminster "Elites" as a bunch of non-vetted Reform thugs take up council seats across the land.

A grim harbinger for 2029? Perhaps.
