Badenoch going after neurodivergent people this morning.

She's an ignorant, obnoxious boot.

Perfect to lead the Tories, then.
If she get's that poisoned chalice, I have an opportune bit of politicking for the starmer-drama.

First PMQ's, I'd give way to Diane Abbott to ask badenoch how she feels representing frank hester and his £10 million donation to the party she leads.

The problem the Tories have is, if you look at comments on things like ConsHome etc, then a lot of members/hardcore supporters have been complaining that most of the last 14 years have been governed by what they call "One Nation Wet liberals" as opposed to proper Conservatives. Too much Blair, too much Cameron, too much state spending (this is of course why they've all gone agog over the Labour WFA cut and back Starmer to the hilt on it... oh wait that's not what happened, they want that spending).

Anyway, so of course Badenoch is making noise saying "too much support for new mothers", "too much support for mental health" or whatever. Because that's the noise that's rebounding around the Tory echo chamber.

We'll see whether she owns what she's said this time or will try to walk it back like the maternity pay stuff.

She believes an autism diagnosis brings "economic advantages and protections" and questions the necessity of school transport for autistic children.
She shows a clear lack of empathy, much like many other Tories, but the free-market libertarians seem even more extreme. Criticizing autism support feels like something straight out of Ayn Rand's playbook—ironic, given that Rand herself may have been on the spectrum.

I can believe that the Tories are considering Jenrick as a possible leader. He's a shady dealer.
I've amended your post slightly.

A few decades ago, you could disagree with the Conservatives while recognising that they were sincere in their beliefs. The current lot threw out the relatively sane MPs in 2019 and the many Tory MPs who campaigned against Brexit, knowing it to be utter folly, are now pretending, against all the evidence, that they think it has been a roaring success.
