Cleverly knocked out

haha.gif

Amazing result. Not quite wrapped my head around how it happened.

"The immediate assumption is that MPs who wanted Cleverly have been too clever by half, switching votes thinking he was safe."

As said about Cleverly.

Looks like he'll be the choice in the end.

The Tories might feel the pull further right, but they know full well that they'd be in permanent opposition doing so.

Cleverly is the only Tory candidate who can challenge Red Tory. Even then though you'd have to wonder if his colour would be off putting amongst an essentially racist electorate. But he's the best of a bad lot for Blue Tory atm, I suppose.
Another big day for you David 😂

Wow. The Blue Tories really are just a short step away from oblivion.

It's been a very bad day for Reform, though.

Hahahaha the Tories can't even manage to rig their own leadership election. What a bunch of cretins.

Badenoch or Jenrick. 'Kinell. Labour must be popping the corks this evening.
I mean he’s had a bad few weeks starmer but it’s certainly took a positive turn today .

What I can’t follow is however right the tories shift they won’t out reform reform so where are they’re votes coming from ? Surely the plan should be to look slightly less mental and fascist but nope they’ve gone full mentalist

Surely this is good news for normal people? Increases the chances of them being out of power for 10 years and maybe allowing the current incumbents to focus on actually improving the country which, in the long run, is the best way of staying in power.

Sort of, the thing is, reform have dug in like a disease carrying tick. The worse the tory pig scum vermin get the more they alienate their core third reich believers into the arms of farage and his russian funded backers. Then they become the official opposition. That's when we get a trump type here talking about building a wall in the channel... "who's gonna pay? France are!!!"

The cult of easy answers and naked racism is then realised and we're on the cusp of civil war in the uk then.

[on news now, cleverly supporters shocked and now backing jenrick because they 'aren't sure on 'bad-knock' who has potential to go up or down'.]

These couldn't pave the way back for boris any more clearly if they'd laid it out in brail.

Whomever is the new Blue Tory leader they'll have to be getting the better of Red Tory in the polls in the first couple of years, because if they aren't a new leadership election will ensue. Blue Tory at least has time on its side.

Actually, although Jenrick is a typical Nasty Party snide I can see the Tories eventually bedding him in and getting something from. Badenoch though is a walking taking disaster zone and that second Tory leadership election is defo on if she's chosen by the Tory backwoodsmen.
