Nailed on to stand, as much as anyone else she's the Boris continuity candidate. Owed her cabinet elevation to his patronage, didn't publicly join in his knifing (despite reports she told him to go in private) and never bent the knee to Sunak or Truss. Whilst other high profile Tories have been sharing in the previous government's drubbing she's stayed aloof.
I wouldn't like to say what her chances are with the MP selectorate, it will depend on outside factors. And of course when in comes to members, whether Boris fanboys will actually accept anyone else or just pine for him to return is yet a further question.

I'm sure the election was totally above board, and there were absolutely no shenanigans. Another fine policy from the Con party.
My favourite thing about these rigged elections is that they even bother giving a few votes to the other candidates as if that might throw people off the scent.
