Even by this government's standards, the Rwanda policy stands out for sheer incomparable stupidity.
It's a policy which everyone in Parliament, almost without exception, knows will not and cannot work. It's already cost the country hundreds of millions without a single immigrant being sent to Rwanda from the UK. The proposed housing for the phantom immigrants has by now mostly been occupied by Rwandan families (at the British taxpayer's expense).
Practically everyone, except a few supporters of Reform Ltd and the most extreme loony wing of the Tory party, is aware that it's a desperate attempt to get votes from racists rather than a real plan.
On top of everything else, it's likely to be in breach of international law.
