The cost of the passess is key! Also it's control, not bothered about porn but what else gets caught up or in time included in this type verification. Mission creep to 1984 with the Conservative party, who would have thought.

Boris Johnson just said money spent investigating historic child sexual abuse is being, and I quote, “spaffed up a wall”.

Yes, Boris, unlike your bridge, water canon, trip running away to Afghanistan, and pretty much every penny you've received from the public purse... Like someone said on reddit, the World would have been better off if your father had stuck to spaffing against walls.

Much like a stopped clock though, he's probably right about that. It seems that a lot of these historic claims are fantastical in their claims and again come from the recesses of the David Icke forum with tales of the Elite buggering all and sundry. Those that actually have some grounding in reality though are and should be investigated.

A crime is a crime mate, if there's sufficient evidence then they ought to be pursued. You should just have used your last sentence, justice should be delivered.

Totally agree, but then you look at Operation Midland and see how far that spun out of control without sufficient evidence, even apparently when it became clear there was none.

Isn't that a cps issue though? Anyway, i believe all criminal activity should be pursued, nor any covered up by appealing to National Interest. Letting it slide on utilitarian grounds gets us to where we are with crime today.

It was more a case of police being driven by media frenzy - nothing had actually gone to the CPS. The problem with Midland was that the accuser was treated as telling the absolute truth and everything was done to find evidence to support that ‘truth’. Again, even when it became clear he was talking nonsense. When you consider that it cost £2.5 million to effectively indulge an attention seeker far beyond one must question the wisdom. Again though if it cost £2.5 million to bring in a rapist who’d actually done harm then it’s money well spent.

If that's bj's issue, as a member of the legislature, he should push for heavy punishment for falsely accusing and wasting police resources and time, no?

Let’s hope so! Also interesting to note that the advice to forces changed post Midland to avoid such instances.

100 million for knife crime apparantly.

Not for more police though like the obvious one would be. No, it's for the existing police to work over time to sort the issue out.

Wow
