A small legacy of what the Tories have done…. I’ve been in my new job since October and every week I’ve been phoning the community mental health team with concerns for one of my residents due to his paranoid beliefs, intrusive thoughts and auditory hallucinations…. I’ve had 2 phone calls returned in that time and still no visit off them…. Yesterday someone called at the home I run to inform me the person I’m concerned about is now walking around the local community carrying a large knife… this is the second report of this in 3 weeks…. Still awaiting any response from the police who I called at 2.30pm yesterday … I have 6 other residents living here and lone working staff… this is the result of the Tories austerity plan

Every service is badly struggling, when we fostered you could see over the years the social workers were getting stretched and the support system was barely surviving.
My wife is a trained child counsellor and we would speak with CAHMS to try to get assesments and help for these kids but waiting times for an appointment was 15 months. A bit of investment to get these youngs kids seen and supported would save money in the longterm.

A lot of services are in fire fighting mode dealing with immediate emergency cases rather than addressing things early on which would probably save money and improve quality of life in most cases.
It will probably take a number of government terms to change that around. If only the major parties could commit to an effort which addressed this instead of cheap politicking and self interest against the greater good.
