Tories following Israel's excellent example of how to stifle any criticism.

Next step, criticising the Tories to be a Hate Crime.
Some uncomfortable extra on online bill. Police will be able retrieve all your interactions on the internet from a year from request for no other reason than they can. And It's not as easy as using VPN due to purposely built back door (vulnerabilities) in OS such Windows Applw Linux Android etc.

So what this tell us, is that the Cosmic Scousers were right all along?

Again, I thank God I live in Ireland - by no means perfect but we are nowhere near where the UK Government is taking things.

Industry figures within the alcoholic beverage industry say that they've been warned Hunt is planning to raise the duty on alcohol for the second time in 4 months

They say the plan is to increase the duty by the retail prices index (RPI) measure of inflation (currently 8.9%)

Since the Tories were elected, beer duty has gone up 21 per cent while duty on spirits has increased by 32 per cent and duty on wine by 58 per cent. Duty on port has shot up by up to 90 per cent.

Tax on smoking will be slowly dwindling so they'll have to find that extra money. Smokers were always the go to for quick tax hike, looks like drinkers are it now!

It's crazy that you can buy a decent enough bottle of wine for a couple of euros in France, I would struggle to find any bottle of wine for under £7 in my local offy

Hate seeing that 8% for Reform. It ain't good.

But the '[Poor language removed] vote' will always exist anyway at that sort of level, it's just that usually it's swallowed up and hidden by the overall Tory numbers. This way it's 8% that's been split out of their base rather than propping them up and making them competitive. Yes, it would be a much nicer world if nobody was remotely interested in the politicals of the far-right, but the electorate is what it is.

Any analysis of what the latest numbers look like in terms of consituencies? Don't mind seeing these maps with tiny pockets of blue on them.

More that it might swing back Tory at a general tbh.

Mind you, how far bloody right must you be for the current Tories to not be enough? The old BNP never polled those sorts of numbers.

Well, maybe. Probably a fair few protest voters who will get back into line in the face of enabling a Labour landslide, UK politics has a way of narrowing gaps on election day like that, as the appeal of a protest vote dissipates in the face of FPTP pragmatism. We may also see the Green & LD votes shrink a little in favour of Labour too.

On the other hand, the slice of the Tory membership seduced by the Reform lot are ones that have a near-pathological dislike of Sunak running the party/country, probably claiming in public that it's his role in "bringing down Boris"... but there's something else about him thery can't stand, something they can't quite put their finger on, just something inherent that means he shouldn't be in charge.

No free speech allowed whilst remembering those who gave their lives for freedom.

Bob Seely just isnt getting enough hero worship on a personal level, the murder of thousands has took the sheen of his day of adulation
