The evidence from the A8 countries is that they are on average more likely to have degrees than the native population, and more likely to have degrees than non-EU migrants, who the government are supposed to be able to 'control'. There are builders, plumbers, care workers and fruit pickers among their number, without a doubt, but there are also economists and scientists, doctors and software developers.

The thing with much of the debate around migration is that we hardly ever actually hear from any migrants. They have no official representation in elections, and a very rarely given a platform to speak in the media, but all the evidence suggests when they are given a platform and a voice, then they can actually be pretty persuasive as they help to break down many of the mental barriers that exist.

i wouldn't stop anybody speaking Bruce not my way at all, if migrants want a voice fine by me.
i was reading a report last week on some of the area's that wanted to leave with high immigration levels , likes of Boston it seemed when asked that people didn't object to immigrants coming as long as it wasnt a high number all over a short period very complex subject mate not sure i know the answer.

Oh, suffice to say I wasn't suggesting you would, merely that the traditional channels people have for expressing themselves (the voting booth or the media) are not really open to migrants at the moment.

It's a disgrace EU immigration by 2o20 down to 10% and anyone expecting to come in from the EU must get a £30, 000 a year job = madness - Javid just preening himself for the PM job imo .....
