There's an ADHD medication shortage.
I saw this problem a mile off, as would anyone aware of the slow and steady privitation of the NHS. This is one of the problems when you allow private companies designed to make a profit to get involved with diagnosing and administration of healthcare and medication. They lower the bar for diagnosis which enables them to take on more patients. It doesn't take a genius to realise why this is very risky.
When I did my assessment, I was surprised at how easy it was to get a diagnosis. Apparently due to TikTok popularity and several other factors there's been a surge in demand for ADHD medication. When you diagnose people at a mass scale eventually the demand for medication outstrips the supply. It seems there's been shortages for a few weeks now, but I had to contact Psychiatry UK yesterday (the nominated provider) to ascertain this information as it wasn't provided. It's just poor service all around which only benefits the shareholder.
Just imagine the implications of this on a wider scale. Having to deal with multiple private companies all with their own different online portals and deficiencies.
