SNP MP saying Corbyn needs to call a vote of no confidence immediately. Are these people really that thick? Do they not think that he will be doing that at the first opportunity when the numbers are there? What is the point in calling a vote you are going to lose?

At least it keeps Mogg, McVey or Johnson out as PM.
Because May has done such a grand job bending over and getting royally shafted by the EU.

The fact she’s actually trying to persuade the public to back her deal is disgusting, it’s all about her saving face and not what’s best for the country.

Remember when she said no deal is better than a bad deal, she’s the absolute finest example of an hypocrite.

In the short-term (very short term) she's survived but I think they (back benchers) will be throwing pressure at her through the night and over the next few days.

Also, you need to consider that approximately a hundred of those 200 are paid votes, so it's about 100 hundred who actually freely chose to support her.
Heard on the radio before about those paid votes. What’s that about?

I think what shows what kind of woman she is, is a lot of stuff she is ploughing on with she doesn't even bother discussing with her cabinet.

She wants her place in history. Thinks this is her destiny. I don't even believe what she said to her MPs tonight, she will do everything she can to fight the next election as well. She will lie and do whatever it takes to cling on.

Who gets to define what is credible, though?
The electorate of course. I really don't understand get how Corbyn enthusiasts don't get that he is unelectable. Or maybe they do, but would prefer to listen to him talking about what he would like to do rather than what he will do because he won't ever get the chance.

In the meantime the UK populace is stuck with the Tories. Great, innit. :(

They don't though. People dislike Corbyn because of what they are told about him.

The EU has said that this is the ONLY deal that they will accept.

The logical way forward here is to put the vote back to the people. We’ve seen how hard it is going to be should we crash out, we’ve seen the chaos that the only deal on the table has caused, its time to ask the public if it is all worth the hassle. Where things really THAT bad in the EU?

The vote should never have been given to the, mostly uneducated, public in the first place. It was a cheap move by the odious Cameron to win more time in power.

They're basically those in the party who are in the Cabinet, are jaunior ministers or are a private secretary - basically an MP with a level of responsibility.

These will pretty much always side with the government (it's almost an unwritten obligation) as their position relies on those for whom ask for their loyalty.

Not all are actually paid positions (Cabinet ministers are etc.) so the term sometimes misleads people, however it's the payroll vote as they have been given a job.

Mogg just said this on TV amazing really when you think about it , those with money/jobs involved vote to keep it that way.
Says a lot about Tories if you pay them the will vote for you
No matter what the issue is.
I know that's how it must look, yet in the mainstay I would say it's more a sign of politicians in general; those on the payroll rote have historically toed the line.

You would expect the same from the opposition and other parties throughout history - they know where their loyalties lie.

2020 was always the election Corbyn Labour was aiming for. May went and held an early one believing she was sure to get a landslide and look how that turned out... We are here tonight because Corbyn was underestimated in that election...
