Even in the scenario you've given, and if you had ignored twitter/family/friends etc, unless you were there when it happened, in the epicentre, you would expect the police to have cordened off the area by time you arrive. I'm assuming the alert wouldn't be sent out until then either anyway. It's pointless.I can't for the life of me figure out what this thing is even for. We live about 10 minutes from London Bridge and when they had the terrorist incident there we got all the information we needed from news sources/Twitter, while staying safely indoors. What would an alert system have done that's any different? That's for something on the doorstep. For stuff that isn't it would be even less relevant. Seems a massive waste of time and reminds me of the test and trace debacle.
