With the amount of Tory MPs hosting shows on GBNews they might as well rebrand it Tory Spin TV.
Funny you sat that-
Anyone know what her response was to that question?Absolutely shocking. What will be done about this?..
Just a muddying of goalposts about what constitutes a news programAnyone know what her response was to that question?

Absolutely, Johnson was our populist trump and small boats are now our build the wall. We’ve got GB news trying to be Fox News with politicians on the right following the path from office to its studio . Both sides of the Atlantic their clinging to a culture war to distract from their failures , the only big difference seems the prevalence of religion.I genuinely worry about this country. Are we just simply descending to be a lesser version of the worst of US politics?
Not sure how that relates to my comment? It was very much the right question by whoever that politician was, but the video cut off before the Ofcom woman answered. While it seems unlikely that she'll have gone "yeah, you know what, that is wrong, we'll do something about it...", I'd be genuinely curious how she did respond.I genuinely worry about this country. I suppose another difference is probably unlike the GOP the top of the Tory party managed to cut of Johnson before the election did , they’ve tried to separate themselves but just like trump his hanging their like a bad smell. The parallels are worrying .

Similarly, I honestly don't know what powers Ofcom has to do much about this kind of situation. We've seen over the post-Brexit period that parliament is largely a law unto itself, which has contributed to the decline in parliamentary standards. Is there any body able to hold MPs to account?
"The Committee said that OfCom rules were clear that no politician can be used as an interviewer or reporter on any news programmes except where exceptionally or editorially justified. The Committee pointed to a recent tweet by the official HM Treasury Twitter account that directed followers to the Chancellor’s interviewer Esther McVey MP and Philip Davies MP (two Conservative Party politicians). MD said that it was quite right that politicians and those campaigning to become politicians not present news programmes, but that aside from that they can present on other shows as long as respect to due impartiality is maintained. MD suggested that she may have to get back to the Committee on the detail of the detail of what constitutes “a news programme”. The Committee suggested that they would welcome OfCom getting in touch about it, because this appeared to be an “unambiguous breaching of the rules.” The Committee also cited Nadine Dorries MP interviewing the former Prime Minister Boris Johnson".Not sure how that relates to my comment? I mean it feels wholly cut and dried. What can Ofcom do should they find that rules have been broken? Is it simply a tut tut and don't do it again or anything more fundamental? I mean we had Kelvin McKenzie suggesting that the SAS should be sent in to sort out the dinghies full of asylum seekers the other day, and Ofcom don't appear to have done anything to censure either GBNews or the S*n for that abomination."The Committee said that OfCom rules were clear that no politician can be used as an interviewer or reporter on any news programmes except where exceptionally or editorially justified.
