I have always found the bbc quite centralist in its reporting. Because of that it is left of the right, and right of the left.
The loonies on both sides get upset by its coverage.
As far as I’m concerned this cultural war is only occurring on twitter. I was oblivious to most of it until I started using it the last 12 months.
Conservatives are trying to stir it up as a vote winner.
Clearly, nutters on the right and left wind each other up…
The bbc are so scared to come across as left wing they are going out the way to stop it, but it doesn’t have the same shame the other way round.
Quite frankly, the news needs to be impartial but we should just accept that lineker is liberal and clarkson a Tory, let them get on with presenting non political programs.

The damage the BBC has done this past week. Wowsers, could not have written it better. All by it's own hand as well, even better.

Take the story linked shows the BBC is nothing more that state broadcaster. People won't trust them anymore. They've eroded confidence in their own integrity and credibility.

And where's the accountability? Arguably Bruce on Question Time has shown more of it with her incident. You could argue the BBC is behaving just like the government in this respect. They have an accountability problem as well. Hollow apologies all round, "we'll learn lessons".

All sounds very familiar doesn't it...

I stand by my guns, I aint hid behind the 'not in favour of drownings', there will come a point very quickly where hands on workers, doers, tax payers, will be an even more important commodity. The current standoff is only accentuating the pain of the disagreement (in that we have to many managers and not enough managed)
If the complaints about policy and announcements were so well meaning, how did Lineker get a whack? What was so outrageous for the meddling to occur?
Viable alternatives? Taking on the Ukraine displaced? turning our backs on the Afghans that'd supported our forces? Pushing housing and relieving pressure, helping the working poor instead of condemning the poorest.

One quick one: the betrayal of the Afghans who risked everything to work alongside Brits (and French and Americans) to rebuild their country was a disgrace. I reckon we agree on that.

Why would P&O allocate vessels to such an endeavour instead of having those vessels carry their normal passengers on their normal routes? Are you asking for the Government to charter P&O vessels, fully crewed, to resource this plan?

Staffing it like border control for holidaymakers from Britain... Last time I checked the French were denying permission for the sort of processing you're talking about being on French territory.

I think your concept for administrating the system on French soil has merit though - removes the need for anyone to pay the people traffickers - provided that temporary residential arrangements can be made to provide for those who are in "the system" and are awaiting their P&O charter voyage across the channel.

The only part of the OBR forecast Hunt did not quote yesterday was for the UK to achieve a bad economic forecast rather than really bad economic forecast was the need for extra 245,000 average per year of immigration, we going to need those pesky foreigners.
