Haven’t seen this. The GFA should be sacrosanct. The EU had no part in overseeing anything. The protocol driven by the EU is causing the current upset…..
ECHR is all through GFA.

DUP opposed GFA due to the mechanism for a Unification vote.

Subsequent deals gives Stormont a ‘Principle of Concern’ veto on laws. This was intended to imbed cross community consent on future laws to create the illusion that all voters are equal.

However, demographics have changed and the DUP struggle with serving behind a democratically elected Catholic.

In response to this, they lambast the need for a Protocol despite adopting a hard Brexit position. They dreamt of a military Border from Dundalk to Lifford.

Now that the Tory’s have bucked them right under the bus, they howl loud for a ‘mutual consent’ clause that doesn’t exist in the Agreement they campaigned against.

But the Eu had no part. You and I know that the NI situation will never keep everyone happy. For me, whatever the people of NI wants, independence, part of UK, part of ROI, is up to them, I am a firm believer in allowing people to chose their future. The Brexit vote certainly caused major problems, but I still believe that Varadkar and the EU did everything they could to try and use the protocol to force NI into the ROI and EU. I don’t know the answer or what will happen, I just hope no one dies as a result……
