Fwiw I wasn't necessarily saying they're solely responsible. I actually think a lot of New Labour's policies either merely slowed the rot or actually helped create the conditions where a round of austerity left public services weakened (private finance initiative for one).

We can go back as far as the 70s to map Britain's slide, the last 12 years or so have just been the acceleration, again.

And what was it that the last labour government did to send record numbers of families into poverty, cold and hunger?

Well, apart from screwing up the banking industry (which according to Brown emanated from the USA) they also introduced Devolution thus sending the Scots into penury, low educational standards and a third world NHS, while also putting in train the break up of the most successful union the world has ever seen…..but apart from that they did sod all…..oh and they also screwed up pensions and some world class companies…
