If there are enough of them, it wouldnt be possible. Well, it would, but it would be pointless. Fracking has pretty much zero support, (nor interest) for the majority of the public. Voting against a manifesto commitment to support a Truss policy is lunacy.
Many may well see it as a de facto confidence vote anyrate. And they are ruthless.
Just from the outside, making it a confidence vote, with an obviously unpopular PM seems like an unbelievable risk.
For the plotters, it's a bit of an open goal.

Like I said, a de facto vote on her. The bill gets defeated, any remaining credibility she has is gone, men in grey suits move in. They have already binned a chancellor and home secretary in a few days as it is.
Its not so much she is unpopular, I am sure she can be charming. Its more that she is utterly useless.
