This removing the whip is a joke. He was elected as a tory mp to vote on behalf of and in the best interests of his electorate. They shouldn't be able to just remove him from the party if he does that. Yet another reason our system is pathetic.

But fair play to him for wanting to ensure she is removed by keeping his letter in. Hopefully those who are yet to submit letters, will vote against, meaning their majority shrinks and less letters are needed.

From Alice Thomson in The Times

'Back again, dear oh dear. Are you OK? No, really, are you all right? You look as though you’ve been shut in a cupboard all night. That is what Keir Starmer should have said to Liz Truss at PMQs. She appeared stunned. Inflation in double figures, minus 60 per cent in the popularity polls, the Turnip Taliban telling her they can’t pay their mortgages, her MPs queueing up to compare her to a dumpster in flames, only Cruella Braverman left to save her from the tofu-eating wokerati. It took bravery to walk into the House of Commons. Perhaps Thérèse Coffey, the health secretary, managed to slip her some pills. Here is a woman we now learn from a former aide who would pretend to bump off minor members of her family rather than go on Question Time. So well done Mrs Rochester for turning up and trying not to blink. You were determined to sound like a “fighter not a quitter” as your MPs looked away in embarrassment.'
