The Cold Truth

The thing about wind ups is that, to work, they have to be claiming something bizarre (not outrageously bizarre, just something that doesn't sit too well with reality). On that basis, if any or all of his points 1-5 are a wind up it must be the most subtle piss take ever. :coffee:

Have you brightened up yet Chico lad?:D

Don't forget to wear the scarf tomorrow. nudge nudge, wink wink.

I dont see why. Castillo is trash; Jo does look on the balance of evidence to be the wastrel he was rumoured to be; we wont make up seven points on Villa in ten games nor claw back four from an Arsenal team getting their quality back in the next couple of weeks; we were mugged over Fellaini's price; we have an uphll battle in the Cup with what's left in the hat.

Thats pretty much it in fairness. Loads of speculation and soundbytes but I stand by those five points.

Im a cup half full type of cat but wanted to sober things up round here.

Would love to be proved wrong like.

Chico, amigo mio, nosotros vamos a ganar la copa. Mira lo que te estoy deciendo. (y)

Señor Moyes te va provar que estas equivocado.

Ok time for some positive perspective- we have one of the most solid defences in the league- we give very little away and our games are always tight. It may not bode well for the most entertaining football matches but it aides in getting results.

In Tim Cahill we have a player that will always get goals- that is a fact. We have King Louis coming back to fitness and showed last week what he is capable of. Love him or hate him Jo was absolutely banging them in for CSKA- and City paid £18m for him- an £18m player doesnt turn to shoite over night.

We have Neville in the form of his life in that central midfield role, coming onto the scene is Rodders who I believe is a hell of a player already. Stevie Pienaar looks a different player after his recent lay off and is back to his brilliant best.

We could win every game 1-0 to get to the final, may not be the most entertaining but would mean a final none the less.

That's correct. It might be that there is an obstacle to Jo doing it in the PL, but he isn't rubbish. Remember also that Moyes scouted the lad for some time. Give him a bit more time and we'll see how it pans out for him.

The only problem with that is moving to the English Premier League is a big step up in class to the Russian League. Jo still could prove his worth but judging him on his last two appearances alone, he needs to improve dramatically to impress Moyes. There is enough remaining games for him to prove his point.

I don't buy that at all. Remember that the current UEFA Cup champions are from the Russian league. Clearly the top four teams in England are better than the Russian teams but the rest of the league I doubt there's much difference. What is different is the style of play and I'd say it's this that's Jo's biggest stumbling block at the moment.

When we played superbly against Bolton he looked very good. Without Arteta we're playing a slightly more rustic brand of football and I simply don't think that suits him at all. The likes of Cahill and Saha will do a better job for us up front at the moment because they're either a scrapper or can make something from nothing.

Doesn't mean Jo's a bad player, just that he's been unfortunate with the injury to Arteta.

Likewise with Castillo, and to a lesser extent Fellaini. You would think after the slow start made by players like Jagielka and Yakubu that people would realise that players need time to settle into new surroundings. When you think that both Jabs and Yak are seasoned English players, something neither MoFro or Casti can claim and the bedding in period would be extended.

We have to be very careful when applying snap judgements to players.
