Why do people feel the need to make up nonsense excuses for crap footballers.

Just where has this nonsense that Jo is a decent 'supporting' striker come from?

Are you trying to say he is somekind of Teddy Sherringham or Nicky Barmby type of player? Because he isnt, the lads first touch is crap, and his passing is ****e.

He most certainly isnt a supporting striker in the sheringham type of mold, and he isnt a supporting striker in the Cahill/Fellaini type of role either.

Jo is just a crap footballer, spending 6 million pound on him would be ana bsolute waste. Stop making excuses for him.

why do people enjoy going completely overboard and slate players after less than a handful of games:blink:

chill out mate, no-ones making excuses(I havent even heard this support striker stuff thats wound you up so much!), some people are just sensible, and would prefer to wait a bit longer and support him!

and drink less caffeine than you!

Nobody is going overboard. Just stating the obvious that Jo is a crap striker.

He will be sent back to City where he will stagnate in the reserves.

I just dont understand why people need to invent crap excuses to explain a football players inadequacy.

He isnt a supporting striker at all, and if he was he would be a crap one. People are making out as if he is some kind of Teddy Sheringham or Nick Barmby when the lad cant even pass properly.

I just edited my post before you put your last one.

your still banging on about this suppoprt striker nonsense, who the hell is saying that, for what its worth I think he is an out and out striker.

and better than you give him credit for, hey thats my opinion, you may well be proven to be right about him at premiership level, but your being far too premature imo!

judge him when he's had some service ffs!

He's seemed a bit dire in the last two games granted, but so has nearly every other player in the team!

Fair enough that is your opinion. There are plenty of people in this thread harping on about him actually being a supporting striker, god knows how they have come to this conclusion but they have.

How much would you say he is worth tho? Some people are mentioning figures as high as 12million pound. I personally think it would be a waste to spend 6million on him.

He will be sent back to City and nobody will buy him.

I think if he gets a couple more goals, and we can have a look at him on another 12 month loan, after moyes has had a pre-season and instilled a bit more hunger, that would be the way to go.

If he plays the rest of the games and their is no improvement whatsoever, then fair enough, I dont think its worth pursuing.

But I'd wait till the end of the season, you have to say moyes has a good record with signings, and he's been tracking him for 18mths, so he must see something in him, but I wouldnt worry about what he's worth or how much we will pay for him, because I dont think moyes has ever paid more than someone is worth before, and I dont expect that to change.

Well he looked at his best when he dropped deeper and Cahill got behind him, Arteta was getting it into his feet and he was linking play well. With Arteta in the side there was alot more fluency in our side and Jo had more of a free role.

In the last few games he's played right up against the two centre halfes and he's obviously not strong enough to lead the line like that, especially not with the the service he's getting at the moment. He's very rarely had a forward pass into feet.

I have no doubts he has ability on the ball, he has good technical ability and has shown it in flashes. His problem is he's one footed and he's used to having far more space. In England you don't get that space and he's struggling.

He's got a long way to go but I do think there is ability there, whether or not he's suited to English football is another question.

Nobody gave us much of a chance on the big day in '95 but we still pulled it off and took the trophy back to Merseyside.

I think we will win tomorrow, after that it's hard to say what will happen but truth being all we have to do is win two games against some difficult opposition it seems to win the trophy.

chelsea went through today, I was hoping so much that sky blues would win but it was not to be.

If Fellaini is worth 15 million then what price for Dean at this peak?

Astronomical I should imagine.

Lets not piss about here.

1 - Castillo is absolutely awful and struggles to find a same colour shirt with a pass.

2 - Jo will never, ever make it in Premiership football.

3 - We will not finish higher than sixth this season.

4 - Fellaini wont be sold on for more than 15 million and in the position he plays well in, we have Cahill who cost a tenth and is miles better.

5 - We wont win the FA Cup.

F.ucking hell. The cold weather affecting you bru? Dont be spitting that kind of rubbish around me when we talk.

I strongly suspect Chico is being mischeivous with his initial post.

I dont see why. Castillo is trash; Jo does look on the balance of evidence to be the wastrel he was rumoured to be; we wont make up seven points on Villa in ten games nor claw back four from an Arsenal team getting their quality back in the next couple of weeks; we were mugged over Fellaini's price; we have an uphll battle in the Cup with what's left in the hat.

if chico was having a bit of fun, that would make sense.

the fact you don't see why, davek, would make sense too, methinks!

He wasnt messing about at all.

Numbers 1,2 and 4 are facts.

Numbers 3 and 5 are speculations based on probability.

Of course I may be wrong, but Mr Azul is normally an upbeat sort of fellow, and is well known for being rather impish.
