What do we think? Am I just terminally online or since the Luigi Mangione case, are people starting to come to terms with wealth disparity, and how people outnumber billionaires at 500k to 1?

Globalisation has created winners and losers and capitalism now runs unchecked with the absence of any serious consideration of alternatives.

The consequences of our flawed economic system, coupled with social media has reduced every single debate to "us vs. them" leaving us in the curious state where our children will be poorer than us for the first time in a thousand years of European history but we aren't blaming the system or the people who benefit.

Think of the world our children are inheriting, climate change, unserious political leadership, misinformation, a collapsing social care system, the absence of nuanced debate, a celebration of self, automisation, AI, global migration, the breakdown of international diplomacy that held for close to eighty years.

Personally, it goes back to the moment the Democrats stitched Sanders up and dropped Clinton into the nomination. If your political elites aren't actually tackling climate change, serious about social care and legislating robust labour laws to protect worker's rights then they are not fit for purpose.

Even our own sport has been taken from us, turned into a regime washing, late stage exercise in disaster capitalism. Migrant labourers will die to build stadiums in countries where they are classed as indentured servants and we're powerless to express anything but a shrug. Corruption is expected, applauded and rarely prosecuted.

The sooner we're hanging the polluters, the political elites, the global disaster capitalists and their apologists from meathooks the better.

Happy Christmas xx

I think it's becoming more of a popular issue now due to people like Musk pretty much making himself a faux political celebrity. Billionaires used to live in the shadows, and got away with it, but now so many multi millionaires/billionaires are attention seeking maniacs

There may be a few which donate a decent amount of wealth, we just don't know about them as they do it all privately . You'd hope so anyway

Musk reminds me of John Gotti. Mob bosses were hard to nail for as long as they kept themselves to the shadows. But murder, loot, and shady notoriety wasn't enough for Gotti. He wanted celebrity status and the glare of the camera. And that's what did for him in the end. His nefarious activities looked a whole lot more stark and accountable in the harsh glare of sunlight. Hopefully, Musk is making the very same mistake...

It'll be a great day when he crashes and burns.

I love that the Amazon workers strike is currently ongoing side by side with the Luigi Mangione case.

Its a stark reminder that the police are a weapon, swung by the government and ruling class to protect capital. Jeff Bezos continues to get richer whilst amazon employees fight for a very reasonable 30 dollars an hour wage.

How can the 'elite' not see how a CEO was gunned down in the street when this is the type of thing workers are up against?

Have yourself a nosey at the 'met police' thread. And have a merry christmas, I hasten to add.
