Partial benefit to some people. Bad to others.

Not really, as the bill goes on to say that employers should invest in technology instead. So rather than having people here paying taxes, spending their wages and all that, you'll have technology doing neither. On the plus side, at least they won't clutter up Tesco annoying the locals by speaking funny languages in the milk aisle

If I subscribe to the Brexit mindset. The factory boundary when walking dog is now down to 4 days a week, it cut overtime when it was flogged to a Japanese in the intial Brexit result and pound crashing and now more recently cut Fridays due to work being moved into EU realm, does lots of work for France Italy in electrical drives etc. So that's now 3 days a week where their is no noise, I'm getting my countryside back, as for the workers, oh well, Que Sera, Sera!

There’s also a lot of jobs that will still require manual labour to be carried out. Industries like Hospitality and Construction which have used EE labour to keep average wage costs down for years (while they creamed it) are going to have to start making those jobs attractive again, as well as put in place the systems to develop and retain staff.

There’s the potential for a reduction in zero hour contracts and other trappings as the worker gains a little more leverage, but, again at what cost?

Well, there appears to be no awareness of the self-employed in the bill, so I wouldn't qualify to come to this country. Given the growth in highly qualified 'gig workers', that's perhaps a reflection of just how ignorant the government are of modern work trends.

Indeed, research from the Centre for Self Employment shows that highly skilled self-employed people are roughly 5x the size of those working in the 'gig economy'. They contribute 73%, or £104bn, of the £140bn of economic output of freelancers to the UK economy. There are believed to be 2.1 million of them in the UK, and they earn twice the average salary.

At least all immigrants will now have to speak English and so I won’t get to feel stupid when people I deem lesser show off by aggressively speaking a second language as well as I speak my first.

The Polish builder (still) doing work on our house was just talking about last nights Eastenders. Bit bloody inhumane if they need to do that to culturally integrate. He had to chuckle amiably as his (cockney) colleague japed about giving Cat one.

We'll be able to drench our own rivers.

David Davis said on Radio 4 this morning that the industry will just have to pay people more. This from the government that gutted social care because it wasn't part of the ring-fenced NHS. They're idiots. Absolute [Poor language removed] idiots.

Ah the Conservative and Unionist Party, tireless advocates of big business paying better wages.
