Official singing sections are the most jarg thing of all time.

If you call that they are, we didn't need one a few years back because everybody knew that the back the street end in the center was where there was the best atmosphere. All you simply need to do is what a lot of other clubs do and simply say a stand is for the more vocal and louder fans, people will know what it means without giving it a silly name. Just like teams like Burnley, City, Huddersfield, Leicester, Southampton have areas of their grounds for fans who want to stand up and create an atmosphere. Most countries have in Europe have an area called a tribune or the Curva where more vocal fans want to go and areas where families can go and sit down and enjoy the match. With our away form being useless, our home results will matter more, so we need to fans to be behind the team.

Sometimes the players need encouragement and support now and again.

Atmosphere is never going to be good when you can barely get into the oppo box... let alone being unable to pop any meaningful shots off against Huddersfield.

And a ref who was determined to disrupt any and all flow of the game.

Yes the atmosphere was poor but where did the match reporter in The Sunday Mail get the notion that the team were booed off? Didn’t happen, in fact there was decent applause. I can only assume he mistook the booing of the ref. Or maybe he just thought he take the opportunity to slag off Evertonians.

In fairness to the players: they can only play to the best of their ability. It's not their fault if they're not good enough.

And how is abusing them going to make them play better?

The club shares a major part of responsibility for the horrendous atmosphere during home games. It's seemingly like they've done their best to drive away the intimidating old school Goodison bearpit roar and replace it with a pleasant, friendly family day out, tourist destination vibe. How else can you explain the ludicrous nonsense such as the half-time "entertainment" along with such garbage as showing the crowd on the big screen pre game and the stupid nonsense fanzone thing along with plenty of other stupid little things. Some might enjoy that aspect of going the match but to me it's helped kill going the game.

I go to the match to support my club and nothing else, sure there's a social aspect were I meet friends and other like-minded people pre and post match for ales but supporting MY club is THE reason im there. I don't go to have a day full of activity that centre around a game of football featuring a team I like who I might clap if they score.

Football has been hijacked by people who don't get it at all. Premier league fans who will happily move onto another sport if that becomes the IT thing to be at. The game has lost its working class routes and old school fans are increasingly alienated and made to feel that game they love has gone (old school doesn't just mean older fans as plenty of younger fans have the old school mentality) and they're left with this pale imitation of the game they love.

It can't be salvaged imo and the only way to make somthing approaching an atmosphere at Goodison is for the club to create the dreaded singing section that many mock and some on here have dubbed "jarg". It might very well be, but it's also the only possible solution to make Goodison roar again. I know that I for one will move straight into a singing section if one was created and I'm willing to bet that many thousands of others would too. Until then we'll just have to settle for the library that is Goodison these days with the occasional bursts of noise every now and then.

I cannot understand why so many of you mock the fans who actually WANT TO SUPPORT EVERTON, do us all a favor and have a your day out at B&Q, I'm sure you'd be just as happy there.
