McCollums comments don’t sound like he’s learnt anything. If anything he sounds like they will double down. Don’t expect any 5 day test matches this series then.

They've been like this for the last few years. They'll end up throwing this series like they did the last Ashes and India in the summer. It's frustrating as we have genuinely world class players.

Interesting comments came out last year from ex NZ coach Andy Moles regarding McCullum. Now you could take these with a pinch of salt as Moles didn't do very well in his job, to the point where he was pushed out of the role and Daniel Vettori took over as player coach for a stint. Or it could be true. McCullum certainly changed his tact on the field following the tragedy of Phill Hughes and this was before that, but it's an interesting insight into "brand McCullum".

Definitely the strangest start of the ashes/possibly any tournament.

It's like it appeared and disapeared in the blink of an eye.

The fact this thread is already down to page 4 sums up how crazy it is.
