The Ashes 2025

Just my humble opinion but we are short of an experienced spinner to give the quicks a rest. I do like Rashid but he is raw at present. Also not sure why the lack of warm up games. Is that the Baz ball style? Really looking forward to this one this time. We win or they will for once know they have been in a proper series!

Bolands absolutely crap.

But I have little faith in Crawley or pope not making him look like peak Ambrose.

If and it's a big if, wood, archer and Atkinson stay fit then I think we will win. Although the lack of any kind of spinner is a worry

Oddly, Crawley has a far better average when facing balls 88mph and over than under that speed. I think the fast pitches will suit him fine.
Root needs his antipodean hundred to shut the Aus up …

But as the ladies have demonstrated today, beating Australia takes some doing … and they failed miserably losing by 6 wickets

A month to go before the first test at Perth. England's squad was announced some time ago :

Australia's squad still a bit up in the air, with Cummins a doubt, at least for the first test. Cheater Smith will captain if he doesn't play. Labuschagne pushing for a recall with some recent good scores. Possible squad :

England play only two warm up games - against the England Lions and a Prime Minister's Eleven.
The war of words has already started, can't wait for actual hostilities to commence. If we don't lose the first test I'll plump for England to regain the Ashes.

I wouldn't get my hopes up, though...

The last time England won the Ashes in Australian was in 1986. 🫤

I have no faith in our top order and I've been saying that for a few years, really don't know what to expect of this series.
'Wofters', by the bucketful. Has there been a time previous where both sides are looking at fairly stacked bowling attacks to rescue them? Thing is about your lot, it's very rare they all don't turn up. Whereas snuff out one or two of the top order for England and the rest get jitters bar Root.
