The Ashes 2017/18

England are playing some thrilling one day cricket thesedays. It's really great to see us totally dismantle the Aussies game after game in this format. It certainly doesn't make up for the shambles in the Ashes, but the last time we toured there we lost the one day series 4-1 after again getting battered in the main event.

Having had a look at the Australian papers on-line, they are really turning on Smith's side and it's great to see considering the abuse the Aussie media dished out to England during the Test series. And we won this game with a bowler short.

I'm made up we've already wrapped up the series, but oh how great it would be to whitewash them 5-0 in their own backyard.

Australia win the toss and put England in to bat. Tom Curran in for the injured Plunkett. Finch out for the Aussies, but strangely, Maxwell, his replacement, doesn't play and Travis Head is recalled.
England 0-1, Roy out second ball.

From 8-5 England managed to get to 196. Chris Woakes, again, with a sterling effort of 78 off 82 balls (5 sixes). Tom Curran made 35 and Morgan and Moeen 33 apiece.

Any series win in Australia is welcome, and this one was comprehensive.

If only we'd have batted a touch better in the 4th game and we'd have whitewashed them.

England really have sorted out their two big guns in Warner and Smith in this format, shame we couldn't do it in the Ashes though, and Tom Curran is looking to be a real find for us.
