Because I'm a racist and I want to prove that African Americans are all criminals, which is what you're hoping to indicate.

No, I wanted to see if the reason there's a much higher percentage of black Americans being shot is because they're committing more crimes, which thanks to the other reply was proven correct.

However, I do believe the police are massively to blame, being undeserving of holding weapons when the tension between African American's and the police is at a all time

I'm not someone who understands american culture one bit, but the mentality on guns is just mind boggling. And all it needs is one president to just end it. Let the morons complain and kick up a fuss but it will soon die when they are ostracised for being deranged idiots.

We lived through 40 years of strife here in Northern Ireland and none of us feel the need to get a gun nevermind carry it around in our cars ffs.

So in short, the police behaviour is very very poor at times and shouldn't be defended. But the paranoia simply wouldn't exist if everyone didn't carry lethal weapons around. It's a vicious circle. A cache 22. And if there was a will, it would have been sorted. So my completely uninformed and probably simplistic view is that the will obviously isn't that strong.

America is different, guns are part and parcel of their society. Pandora's box has long been opened. The argument that if you ban guns then only criminals will have them is a stupid one everywhere except the USA.
