I would not really try to position the UK as a global model for police work, just as I would not do the same for the US.

Here in the UK theres been 3 shootings by looneys with a gun this century and last century, I dont mean murder with a weapon, I mean an utter fruitcake has just gone crazy with a gun, you see everytime we have 1 in this country we stamp down on the amount of mentals that are allowed near a weapon.

How many in the US so far this year? 20?25? THIS YEAR.

Actually we just do a knee jerk blanket ban. Plenty of people have been killed by pistols since Dunblane.
