So…some credit card companies have recently started tracking and flagging suspicious gun and ammo purchases, effectively hoping to do some good in the absence of red-flag laws. IIRC correctly, the guy who shot up the nightclub in Orlando charged $20k+ worth guns/ammo that he couldn’t actually afford to his credit card, knowing he would never have to repay it.

Seems like a good idea from the credit card companies, right? Naturally, Ron DeSantis signed a law banning the practice in Florida on Friday.

My work went through pretty much this exact training recently.
We have stickers on doors to rooms throughout the building that are considered "ideal" for hiding
To add the funny/not funny reason why...

A few years ago we went into lock down because of reports of someone walking around campus with a rifle (actual images from the incident)

Turned out to be an umbrella.

Doesnt that give a clue to whoever wants to shoot you?
It's small and very top corner. Unlikely to be noticeable in the chaos. More so employees are aware of "safer" havens before hand.
And many doors have stickers - hazardous or flammable materials, rooms that have fire detectors, others pertaining to IT stuff, etc.

My office has an orange sticker...no idea why. Although now I think about it, could be marking the gingers!

I’ve been to the US and loved it, but as a UK-ist, the obsession with guns is simply something that we don’t have.

I remember Dunblane obviously, but I can’t imagine the fear of a shooter on a daily basis.

Honestly, I don't worry about it. Maybe I should more, but that's no way to live.

I heard semi automatic rifles firing all weekend and regularly do. I have many gun enthusiast neighbors

What about banning bullets then?
I've said this copious amounts of times. Prohibit the production of ammunition apart from certain circumstances, and force the prices of those in stock right up.

There'll be a black market for what's left, what they can import and what they produce (in garages etc.), but if people are limited to rounds it'll have an impact.
