Well, it wasn't a premeditated killing. It's easy to sit at home and pass judgement after the event. Multiple gunshots to the body doesn't necessarily end a threat to life. |A headshot is more effective. This isn't a TV show where one shot kills...

Morale of the story... don't rob and threaten peoples lives with a gun. As an added bonus, chance of reoffending = zero.
He had already loaded eight shots into the guy at point blank range, and knew he was no longer armed because he picked up the attacker’s gun which had slid into the corner by the door. How much threat could he realistically pose at that point that warranted executing him?

They won't reoffend though, brucey bonus that?!

If he was carrying an imitation firearm, rather than a real firearm, in Texas of all places, chances are that he is already a convicted criminal. How many chances do you give to gun-carrying armed robbers? One? Two? Ten?

bang on chief, the vigilantes win. then the next minute you're executing your neighbour because his dogs pished on your lawn... population control has to happen, this seems as sporting as anything else.

guns in public places ok in Texas?

A few assumptions there... How do you know he was no longer armed? Just because he had dropped one gun, doesn't mean he wasn't carrying others. Concealed carry!!! He could have had a gun in his pocket, one strapped to his ankle...who knows?

Was the executioners gun concealed?

Neither of the gun holders in that video are wearing a uniform or are acting under the authorities constraint.

& Hypocrisy?

Did you see there are other people in the restaurant? Customers + staff. Maybe 10-15 people. Some are cowering under their tables in fear as they believe their lives are in danger.

Why is your primary concern with the criminal who voluntarily instigated this situation?

My concern is the vigilante tomorrow that decides to stake out the local school, hospital, church, deli, bank, gas* station, cinema, gym, abortion clinic, or otherwise. Untrained, inexperienced have a go heroes eventually goes wrong. And who ends up accountable?

My problem here is escalation. The killer gets off, so anyone desperate or stupid or high or deranged enough next time goes in fully loaded, then its bloodbath time 'cos "everyone wants to stop me"....

Hypocrisy remember...
