This was very nearly the oft-referenced “good guy with a gun” scenario, right up until the moment where, having already neutralized the threat from the robber, this supposed “good guy” decided to take it one step further and execute him on the spot.

Jesus. I think that was 9 shots including the final one. The final shot is just horrific

Especially considering he knew the guy wasn’t even armed anymore considering he picked up his gun (which I think also turned out to be fake) just before the headshot.

Isn't it illegal to have guns in public places and in your car?
Also, when the shooting stops, how is everyone still? The door, the window, the kitchen hatch anything just go go go...
If they don't go after the guy that executes the robber, is it an invitation for whackjobs that want to kill someone to see how it feels to start loitering with intent at gas stations*, restaurants, schools, cinemas, and churches?
"Well judge, he was dropping litter so I had to teach him a lesson ah-yuck"

Heavy, that. The first few shots were probably enough, unsure how the laws work out there but he could end up going down for a long time.

He'll have been 'scared out of his mind' and 'acting reasonably to prevent loss of life' with 'it's very fortunate he was there and armed and prepared to do something' thrown in.
They didn't give a toss when that kid had his assault rifle and was taking down young black men so this scumball will probably get a statue or a run for prez.

It is a hard one because everyone in that gaff were probably thankful for what he did there, but it's very excessive.

It’s awful and it’s hard to see it as anything but an execution but very probably the bloke has never done anything but fire at targets suddenly he’s in a life and death situation in an enclosed room with his heart racing , his ears ringing and his adrenaline pumping .

Like I say it looks like exactly what it is but you could argue that situation also looks like what you could suggest happens when people with no training have easy access to firearms .

Well, it wasn't a premeditated killing. It's easy to sit at home and pass judgement after the event. Multiple gunshots to the body doesn't necessarily end a threat to life. |A headshot is more effective. This isn't a TV show where one shot kills...

Morale of the story... don't rob and threaten peoples lives with a gun. As an added bonus, chance of reoffending = zero.

Are you pleased with Harry Markle's taliban count?

Thing is armed robbers don’t tend to shoot unless confronted. They use the weapon as a threat to stop people from tackling them and then run. Usually people are sensible enough to realise that a bit of cash or a phone isn’t worth risking your life for so just hand it over. This guy has clearly decided he would be the hero and has ended up executing someone. No idea what the laws are but he should do time

He had already loaded eight shots into the guy at point blank range, and knew he was no longer armed because he picked up the attacker’s gun which had slid into the corner by the door. How much threat could he realistically pose at that point that warranted executing him?
