It doesn't matter "how" Germany went about invading other countries. People always say how mass gun-ownership will always be overpowered by the state-ran military but that's not the point. A militia means there will always be resistance and guerrilla warfare in these invaded land, which would always trouble the Nazis. It's a well documented fact that France's strict gun laws halted and affected their resistance to the Nazis and was the prime reason why France was able to be invaded so easily.

France had an army, a navy and an air force as well as an active partisan resistance from the earliest days of the occupation you absolute cretin.

A 1935 act in France caused new, non-hunting guns to require registration, but that had no effect on the masses of weapons left over with WW1 veterans. France was, as a rural society, awash with guns. What it didn;t have was mobile artillery, fast paced armour and next generation air power. None of which are rifles especially useful against.

Why this person emir is still allowed to continue to post on here escapes me.

Had he posted such things on any of the pages I am an Adin of, he would have been history a long time ago. He is a twisted individual who should not be given space on here to propagate his views. He should not be allowed to continue to spew forth the bile that he has already posted. Mods: for God's sake, get rid of this odious individual!

Hello.

Thank you for your feedback.

Do note;
  • A reminder then that The Current Affairs forum is largely unmoderated. Our moderators take a step back from moderating. We won't/can't moderate this forum as we do the rest of the site, nor will we allow it to monopolise our time.

  • If we find anyone who finds this forum a bit too much, they become high maintenance and generally not suitable for this forum, we'll revoke their access to the current affairs forum.
That second bullet point also applies to those who can't appreciate, or willing to understand that some people hold totally different ideology/core values.

Can you share the pages your admin of? I'd very much like to review them - I'm sure there's a great deal we could learn and perhaps, I could feedback?

I'll PM you the details of the pages.

My point is, without wishing to sound contentious at all, that what this person has expressed goes against levels of decency that should be allowed on here. I have, in the past, received warnings and a ban on here for what I consider less...

God yes, AR15 right next to my bed.

Uzi in the kitchen drawer next to the forks.

That's the thing isn't it. It's easy to feel safe here - if someone is burgling your house - they're not going to have a gun. In America, chances are they would. To feel safe there, you'd even the playing field.

I don't accept the argument around guns as a civil defence against oppressive government but I understand it as defence against citizens.

As I'm sure has been covered - the Nazis did move to ban gun ownership for Jews and then more broadly against 'unreliable' people and obviously they didn't allow guns for citizens in occupied countries. To talk that up as a pro for guns is a nonsense IMO, but it is a fairly common argument.

I look forward to reviewing them.

Well, 'decency' is subjective isn't it?

What could be decent in the UK, isn't decent in the Middle East.

Do we make allowances for different ideologies and core values? Do we debate them or do we start banning everyone who doesn't conform to the 1990s+ western view? Answers on a postcard.

I'm not convinced this is accurate.

I can see your warnings and you've had 10 in total. 9 for Inappropriate Language;

Your single Inappropriate Content warning was for this in 2016. A bit harsh perhaps given it was in CA but the reports on that post wanted you banned for being so offensive to remainers. Just as well we didn't listen to cry arsing eh.

You only have to look at the amount of knife crime in this country.

Does the fact that people carry knives make me carry a knife? God no.

That doesnt mean I wouldnt own a gun in Murica, but theres not a chance I wouldnt have used it by now, think of all the petty squabbles you have had over the years with various people. Now think about the outcome if both people were strapped.

Definitely.

It's what I meant by horse has bolted in America.

Even if they banned all guns, given the amount of them how many years would it take for scarcity to kick in? Must be a good few lifetimes?

Yeah totally agree, horse has well and truly bolted.

As you say, if they banned them tomorrow, Hillbilly Jeff from Texas aint giving up his collection, thats for sure.

We banned them in this country, but we never had the "problem" that the US had.
