Haha...thanks for absolutely proving my point mate. Well in. Oh, and I can't help you if you don't want to face facts. Liberals in this country have come out and said as much. Unless you really want to say they haven't.
Subservient to who mate, who exactly is wishing it, and for what purpose?
If I lived in America, I'd have a gun.
Not because I'd want one, but because of fear - because I'd feel like I needed one.
Everyone else has one, if someone breaks into my house, chances are - they'll have a gun and I'll want to be on a level playing field.
I can understand that.
What I can't understand is what Obama explains here;
Nails it, for me.
He's talking about restricting gun proliferation so that they aren't easily attained by unstable people etc.
The problem in America, as he says, is that the NRA in America refuse to entertain ANY further restrictions on guns, mostly due to a slippery slope fallacy. So basically people can buy guns in America as easily as we can buy a Twix, and that's the problem - they're not sold exclusively to people vetted as responsible; that's what causes mentally ill people to go on shooting sprees, or people with criminal records - which accounts for the vast majority of massacres recently.
Not only that, no effective system of gun safety exists. They don't have to do any viable course of instruction, because the view is they have a legal right to a gun, whether they know how to use one or not.
All Obama wanted to do was tighten the regulation, like a sane person would. Unfortunately, the NRA and Republicans veto it over and over again, and that's why the USA is what it is.
