Around 9:45 a.m., the inmate managed to take the security guard’s gun and fired it, wounding the guard. The inmate eventually used the weapon on himself and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“The inmate was able to get the gun away from the armed security guard and shot the security guard and then shot himself in the parking lot behind the emergency room,” said Dayton Police Maj. Brian Johns.

I don't wholly agree with some of her conclusions but the myths she addresses specifically counter some of your assertions.Playing the Devil's Advocate. As I've said a huge % of Americans feel their 2nd Ammendment rights are extremely important to them. So, if we are saying - general consensus - that stricter gun control measures will NOT stop mass killings / shootings, do they have a valid point in saying that why implement these measures if those asking for these measures to be brought in, concede the mass killings will carry on.
Someone accused me of " not knowing America " might I strongly suggest that if people genuinely believe more gun control measures will be brought in, they are deluded. It just isn't going to happen, ever.
