Some interesting statistics here...

https://assets.publishing.service.g...ificates-england-wales-2018-2019-hosb0919.pdf

2018/2019 stats - A few that stand out...

-There are 160k firearm licenses, and £572k shotgun licenses.
-For new firearms/shotgun applications, only 2/3% were refused.
-Most license holders are male, 97% for firearms, 94% for shotguns.
-Youngest person with a shotgun license is eight years old.
-Almost 1500 licenses were revoked in 2019.
-Most licenses are held in rural areas, with the fewest held in large, urban areas.

There is always room for improvements of course, but I think we have got the balance just about right. In the UK, mass/spree gun killings are rare. Hungerford in 1987, Dunblane in 1996, Cumbria in 2010, and Plymouth 2021. For perspective, there have been 425 mass shootings in the USA so far this year.

Report cards to try and reduce the value of a child's life in a payout. What a horribly sick world this is.

It's a sick world where we have a country, which tries to portray itself as a leader of the world, that lets people buy and posses firearms often with little or no checks.

It's a sick world where have a country, which tries to portray itself as a leader of the world, that has a political system that will often not even tolerate gun reform.

The list could go on and on and on. Sadly, it doesn't surprise me that the manufactures act like this because their entire system is rotten to the bloody core.

What a life for kids.

As a parent of a kid attending school in the US I can tell you that it is scary to think something like this could happen at my daughter's school but now days no school is shield from.an incident like this one. Gun violence is a real public crisis in the.US but the supreme court doesn't think so and the packed conservative.majority, for the first time in more than a decade, has accepted a major challenge to existing gun laws. So it is going to be interesting to see how they rule and whether they continue exacerbating the gun crisis with their ruling.
