I suspect Trump will want all gamers carrying weapons now. It’s truly beggars belief how some hold onto the second amendment right over the safety and security of their own people.
For all the jibes regarding Americans we may joke about I think we should acknowledge the amazing courage and restraint that the majority of ordinary citizens don't carry weapons all the time. Just think about going out each morning knowing how easy it is to get a gun and basically hoping that fate doesn't put you in the same place as a disgruntled man or woman?
What you have put there is technically true because surely the gun loving right will say that everyone should carry guns to protect themselves. Welcome to the wild west 2018 style. It's just crazy and I don't know what kind of event that could happen to start changing minds.
Not even then if this from Steve Scalise is any guide. It was Sandyhook...or should have been. If slaughtering 6-7 year olds didn't change things nothing will.
The exception might be if guns become so prolific that legislators and their families are no longer safe.

have the "look how the camera cuts out just before the 'shots' were fired" crowd started yet?

If you need any evidence that America has some backward thinking there it is right there. Unbelievable. Not even then if this from Steve Scalise is any guide.

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) says that getting shot at the GOP baseball practice over the summer — and nearly losing his life as a result — has strengthened his views against gun control.
Fox News’s Martha MacCallum asked Scalise in an interview to be aired later Tuesday if his experience and the deadly mass shooting in Las Vegas on Sunday night have changed his views about the Constitution’s Second Amendment.
“I think it’s fortified it,” Scalise said.
