Wasn’t the AR-15 that shooters can legally buy, no siree.

So buying a gun to kill another living thing as in an animal is good. Shooting targets shaped like "bad" guys is also cool and reasonable but playing a make believe game and shooting and killing isn't.

What the hell is wrong with them. Haven't we been through this video game argument before especially after columbine. Didn't the industry take measures with warnings and age restriction and suggestions. But yeah they are to blame.

I bet its harder for a teen to buy an R rated game at game stop than it is for an 18 year old to buy an AR-15.

The whole "desensitize young people to firearms" argument is dumb and its been talked about before.

If its true that near half of the country owns a gun or has access to one legally then don't they watch their older siblings and parents shoot the guns or a friend or a cousin and heck may get involved themselves.

Research would help.

BTW, anyone know how to program a macro that can just load this comment for me once each day?

It's also so easily demonstrably BS because (I would bet good money) the playing of violent video games is just as high in UK as it is in US, and we're not blowing each other away in record numbers.

“Guns don’t kill people,” LaPierre declared. “Video games, the media, and Obama’s budget kill people.”

Amazing.

What do you expect. They lobby for gun manufacturers. They protect the profits of companies like Colt, Smith & Wesson, etc, etc, etc.

They are the big tobacco of the firearms world and they've convinced half the country they care about people's liberty. It has nothing to do with that.

There was this one last month here in California, 12 year old girl had a loaded semi auto in her backpack, dropped the bag and the gun went off injuring four including one poor kid who was shot in the head. Why a 12year old had access to such a gun I have no idea.

Honestly I read these reports and news articles and thank my lucky stars I don't have to live in such a retarded country as America. I don't mean to tar everybody with the same brush but anybody with 1 jot of common sense can see how backwards their archaic gun laws are... I also don't understand how God worshipping they are... an entity that apparently lives in the sky and that can't be scientifically proven to exist ...yet they live their lives claiming things they do are for the will of this entity or carried out in his name... it's weird.

I love living in California, guns are just a potential risk I worry about similar to the earthquakes and wildfires although I’m still more likely to get hurt in a car accident than I am the other three. But there is quite a lot of research done to make all those other risks lower as time goes on, sadly not for guns.
