So a jihadi has gunned down a load of people in a nightclub? Good job Europe has strict gun laws that would stop this kind of thing!
Yeah cuz he defo bought and registered his gun first before doing that, as it's not a terrorist attack or anything.

Bet the pilots of the planes on 9/11 also went through extensive airplane pilot training too.

May as well start now and benefit the generations after us.

Continuing to leave them on sale is only keeping the deadly cycle going.
Yeah I agree with that, but surely people would stock pile before the legislation was passed and I reckon there would be over 2 billion guns flying around USA by the time it was illegal to purchase

Pipe down. That happened the once in Paris, as it still could happen in America if guns were banned, this happens 5-7 times a year in the USA and that's mass shootings, many more individual shootings you not I will know about. This isn't a Jihadi issue, this is an issue because this absolute tw@ probably perfectly legally purchased an assault weapon and has killed 50 human beings and injured another 50. Same as those shooting in California a few months ago and all the mass shootings at schools/colleges.

Brushing it off as something that could happen anywhere because it happened in Paris is not the way to go. I'm fairly certain the Paris attackers didn't Bob into Le ASDA and get a shed load of ammunition and a few assault rifles en route to the targets.

It's hard to quantify numbers but stopping the sale then making them illegal with harsh punishment if found would be two progressive moves. Then of course there'd be loads of other laws and programmes to help the process.

It has to start somewhere. Why not now?

I agree with you but don't think it would be straight forward and the whole process would be utter chaos

...I think the right to bare arms is written into the US constitution. The constitution would need amending but if a series of school shootings isn't enough to change things I doubt this will, incredible really.

Are the guns used legally purchased? You're sure of this?
Here's one for you. our deadliest terror attack was committed using suicides vests which have always been illegal. Legislation really helped there.

Even if they were not legally purchased I think it's safe to assume he got one with relative ease compared to how a European would go about getting one.

If you really wanted to you could probably get one, even more so in mainland Europe. And banning them in the states would be as effective as banning drugs has been.

Horrific incident in FL. Praying for all the victims & their families. When will this stop? When will we get tough, smart & vigilant?
