I wanted Hunter-Bell to win it. Tough for her to miss out on gold when she probably thought all she had to do was beat Hodgkinson over the line.

That's the beauty of 800M racing, I suppose: always unpredictable.
 

I dont think Kenya worked as a team though. Mourra is one of the most self-centred athletes out there.

Odira won that off her own pace setting.

Yeah, nerves of steel to wait until that point.

Hodgkinson lost it because she failed to put Mourra in her box early on and just go for the fastest time and blow the others out of it.

You've got to think that her injury lay off caught up with her in the end though.
