The 20th World Athletics Championships. Tokyo 13th-21st September

There is something very peculiar about this track, I believe it is more springy than the old fashioned unengineered surfaces. One of the relays yesterday had 8 season or country best records set, followed by 6 new or season records set only because 2 teams didn't finish.

World athletics binned russia for a state doping program, why penalise just them?

There's been no track world records though...so far.

Plenty of PBs, but how many more than in other World Championships?

That championship record is 1.4 seconds behind the world record. The explanation for the world record holder was that she was fueled by hard work and vitamin b12.
we've got armstrong, the dirtiest race in history, flo jo, and didn't the usa ladies only take the relay record off east germany a year or two back?

Simpler terms, if I don't like em, they're dopers. If I do like em, they're cleaner than the holiest saints.

Going back to the women's 800M: I'm not sure about the winner...to say the least.

Odira came into the final and beat her own PB by 2 seconds. Two seconds is an enormous lowering of a personal best over that distance.

The Kenyans are now the most notorious dopers in world athletics - 5 of them have been suspended or banned just in the last month...80 in the last year.

I have a feeling those silver and bronzes won by Hunter-Bell and Hodgkinson might be upgraded to gold and silver before too long.

Odira by the way has reduced her PB over the last 12 months by 4 seconds. Utterly incredible (or un-credible) for that distance at that level of competition.

I'm calling it now: she's a juicer.
